A man aged 20 has been charged with murder following the death of a teenager in Luton.

It follows an incident in which Bedfordshire Police was called to Dallow Road in the town at about 22:50 BST on Friday to reports of a collision between a car and an e-bike.

They found a 19-year-old with serious injuries, but despite the actions of emergency services, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The arrested man, who is from the town, has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Luton Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A large red and white "Road closed" sign stands in the middle of a road with a bollard next to it. Police cars are parked at right angles in the road in front of it.

Det Insp Caeva Taylor said: "This was a dreadful incident and our thoughts are with the victim's friends and family at this time.

"Our team is still working around the clock to work out exactly what happened in the build-up and after this incident and we believe there are people with information who can help with our investigation.

"I'm asking them, or anyone who has any further information about the incident, to contact us."
