A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in east London in 2022.

Lorena Ciupeanu, 28, was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone on November 4, 2022 after being found unresponsive.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, she died the following day.

Kevin Bramley, a 68-year-old man from Wanstead, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of her murder.

Bramley, who was in a relationship with Lorena at the time of her death, was charged later the same day with murder, sexual assault, coercive and controlling behaviour and causing actual bodily harm.

He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
