A man has died after a car crashed into a Lidl supermarket in Wolverhampton, it has been confirmed.
West Midlands Police said officers were called to Finchfield Hill at around 5.51pm after a car ploughed into the front of the store, which is off a mini-roundabout.
Several people have been treated for injuries, while the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Images taken tonight show the front of the building damaged by the blue Renault, which came to an abrupt stop on the shop floor.
The scene of devastation included a bent-over metal bollard, a crushed trolley, and the vehicle embedded in the doorway, with a large police cordon around the site.

Videos have also been circulating on social media, with alarms heard in the footage as customers leave the store, stepping over glass and debris.

A force spokesperson said: ‘A man in his 30s was sadly pronounced deceased while a number of other people were treated for injuries at the scene.
‘The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.’
They added that police would stay at the scene, alongside West Midlands Fire Service and ambulance colleagues, to carry out enquiries.
Meanwhile, traffic disruption is expected as nearby roads are likely to remain closed ‘for some time’, with Finchfield Hill closed near The Spinney, and Road West and Oak Hill closed as well.
Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
Anyone with more information regarding the incident should call 101, quoting log 4069 of 23 October.
