A man has escaped injury after a petrol bomb was thrown inside a house in County Armagh.

Police received a report of the incident in the Anne Street area of Milford at approximately 22:25 BST on Wednesday.

A window was smashed and the petrol bomb was thrown inside by an unknown individual.

Police are treating the incident as deliberate ignition, with one line of enquiry that two unknown males were involved in the attack.

Some fire and smoke damage was caused to the living room area.

The occupant of the house, a man, was able to leave the property moments after the item was thrown through the window. No injuries have been reported.

Police said one of the suspects was wearing all dark clothing, while the other was wearing a t-shirt and brown trousers with a face covering.

They left the scene on foot in the direction of the Monaghan Road.

"Our enquiries are ongoing today to determine a motive and who was involved. We are also keen to hear from anyone who noticed suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the report," Det Sgt Lyons said.
