A man has pleaded not guilty after a woman died in a dog attack in Wolverhampton.
Lila Hall, 78, was attacked on Willis Pearson Avenue in Bilston on 15 April and died at the scene.
Matthew Williams, 37, from Wolverhampton, pleaded not guilty to being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury, resulting in the death of a person, at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday.
A date was set for his trial, 11 October 2027 and he was given conditional bail.
During the hearing, the judge questioned whether there should be two counts, as there were two dogs involved.
However he said they would revisit that issue at a hearing in March.
The court heard the dogs were mixed bully breeds, called Hank and King.
They also heard that Williams accepted he was their owner but denied being in control of the dogs, saying they were in the control of his grandmother.
