A man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a pensioner in County Tyrone.

Adam Krzan was found dead in his flat in Dungannon in February 2025.

The 71-year-old, who was originally from Poland but had lived in Northern Ireland for more than 20 years, was found by police with multiple stab wounds at his flat in the Lisnahull area of Dungannon. He died as a result of his injuries.

Ryan Patrick Kerr, 34, of Derrylattinee Road in Dungannon, appeared at Laganside Crown Court on Thursday, where he denied the charge.

A further hearing is scheduled for 23 October, when a trial date is expected to be set.

The court heard Kerr had a documented history of significant drug misuse, with his defence barrister seeking expert medical opinion ahead of the trial.

At a previous hearing, police described arriving at a "disturbing scene" at Krzan's flat, where they found a large volume of blood.

Police said Krzan had suffered three stab wounds to his chest and two to his neck.
