Manchester United 1-1 PSG: Bryan Mbeumo scores again as Red Devils impress in pre-season draw
Bryan Mbeumo was on target again as Manchester United battled to a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in their latest pre-season friendly outing in Gothenburg.
The Cameroon forward - who netted both second-half goals in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in Stockholm - had another productive trip to Sweden on Saturday, coolly rifling home a 32nd-minute equaliser at Ullevi Stadium after fine work from Amad Diallo.
Youri Tielemans came off the bench for the final 25 minutes to make his United debut, while captain Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot were also introduced for their first appearances of pre-season, and Noussair Mazraoui was handed a start following his own post-World Cup holiday.
There was concern though for Michael Carrick as midfielder Mason Mount limped off early with a possible foot issue, while veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton was replaced by Dermot Mee quickly after the interval due to a hamstring problem.
United now move on to the Republic of Ireland for a training camp that is followed by a historic showdown with rivals Leeds at Croke Park in Dublin on Wednesday, after which they finish their pre-season campaign in Poland against AC Milan.
PSG - brushed aside 3-0 by Mallorca in shock fashion in their opening match of the summer in midweek - will now prepare for their UEFA Super Cup clash with Europa League holders Aston Villa in Salzburg, which is followed by a meeting with Lens in the Trophee des Champions.
