Manchester United may have lost two more players to injury, right after welcoming an attacking duo back as the focus shifts towards Champions League action.

Marcus Rashford - who withdrew from the England squad during the international break - made a late appearance off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the weekend.

Furthermore, Amad Diallo made his first appearance of the campaign after recovering from an ankle injury he suffered in pre-season and Carlos Baleba was handed his competitive debut after signing from Brighton in the summer.

With that in mind, here is all the latest and potential return dates...

Luke Shaw started the 1-1 draw with Tottenham, but was replaced in stoppage-time by Ayden Heaven.

While there was no explanation from Michael Carrick regarding the substitution, footage quickly emerged on social media afterwards of the left-back limping as he made his Old Trafford exit.

With such a short turnaround in between fixtures, Man United fans had been fearing the worst about Shaw’s involvement in the Spanish capital.

The 31-year-old missed United’s league phase win over Sabah last month through injury and he may sit out matchday two as a result of his absence at Carrington on the eve of the Atletico fixture.

Carrick will provide an update on Shaw in Monday evening’s news conference.

Potential return date:

Kobbie Mainoo was a doubt for Man United prior to the Tottenham game after missing England’s Nations League quadruple-header.

Although, despite being passed fit and completing 90 minutes in the draw, the midfielder was also absent from Monday’s training session at Carrington to raise fresh fears over his involvement against Atletico.

It remains to be seen if Mainoo travels to the Spanish capital, but a further update is expected shortly.

Potential return date:

Dorgu is one of the biggest worries for Carrick at present with United now running out of one senior left-backs.

The Dane started for his country against Wales in the Nations League, but was hauled off with 30 minutes on the clock.

He seemed to have suffered a hamstring problem which could sideline him for a prolonged period, and he returned to United early for testing.

Speaking ahead of the Spurs game, Carrick said of the versatile winger: “It looks like he'll be out for a number of weeks.”

Potential return date:

Sesko has suffered a fresh flare-up of the shin injury which saw him miss the last few games of his debut season at United.

He had seemed to be back at full fitness after starting against Sabah, but was left out of the squad entirely for the trip to Fulham.

After the Fulham game, Carrick said of his No30: “It was a pain in his shin. We’re not sure with him yet. He felt a bit of pain after the game. We’re assessing him. He definitely wasn’t ready for today.”

Out again: Benjamin Sesko

There is no timeframe on a return for the striker yet.

Potential return date:

Mazraoui returned from international duty with Morocco with a knock, Carrick revealed.

Explaining the full-back’s issue, he said: “Nouss came off and took a knock. He's not quite right, so we'll see how he is.”

He did not feature against Spurs and was not in training ahead of the Atletico Madrid game which suggests a return is not imminent.

Potential return date:

Matthijs de Ligt

De Ligt is almost at a full year on the sidelines with a back injury he suffered against Crystal Palace in November last year.

He underwent surgery in May, and he played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Lausanne during the international break.

There will be hope that he can make a full comeback soon, despite not being named in the squad against Spurs.

Potential return date:

Ugarte continues to recover from an ACL tear he suffered representing Uruguay at the World Cup.

He is set to miss the majority of the campaign.
