Harry Maguire plays on with suspected broken nose

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire suffered a nasty injury less than two minutes into Sunday’s Premier League clash at Everton.

Maguire has came off second best in a collision with Everton striker Thierno Barry when the pair challenged for the ball.

Barry and Maguire jumped for the same ball and the Everton man collided with the front of the defender’s face when attempting to head the ball.

The defender immediately clutched his face, prompting fears of a broken nose, as Leny Yoro was sent to warm up.

Maguire was attended to by Man Utd medical staff for several minutes, and blood could be seen pouring from his nose.

However, perhaps surprisingly, Maguire decided he could play on.

Yoro sat back down on the substitutes' bench, with Michael Carrick avoiding another injury to his squad.

Carrick is currently without injured quartet Amad Diallo, Carlos Baleba, Mattijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte.

Mason Mount was named among the substitutes to mark his return to the matchday squad for the first time this season.
