A missing lottery winner has been found after their £1 million prize went unclaimed for four months.

The National Lottery appealed for players in Tameside to check their tickets after no one claimed the life-changing sum.

Thankfully the winner came forward just in time as the win was set to expire in December.

Andy Carter, Senior Winner’s Advisor at Allwyn said: ‘We have been doing everything we can to raise awareness of the unclaimed £1M prize in Tameside and making sure the missing millionaire was talk of the town, not just locally, but nationally.

‘We are delighted that the winner has come forward to claim their prize.’

It is not known who the winner is, but since the start of the year, Lotto has made 151 millionaires.

Someone in London has won an incredible £5.8million, bought in Lewisham, since the jackpot winner has yet to come forward.

Purchased ahead of the Saturday, September 26, draw, the ticket matched all six main numbers in Round 1 of the draw to scoop the whopping jackpot of £5,844,340.

The National Lottery is now urging all players who may have bought a ticket in Lewisham for that draw to double-check their tickets for those golden winning numbers, which were 22, 27, 38, 42, 47, 59 and the Bonus Ball 31.

Fortunately, the lucky ticket holder has 180 days (until March 25, 2027) to claim their prize, but we can’t imagine it’s one anyone wants to wait that long for.
