Moment brawl erupts on Ryanair flight to Ibiza with crew screaming 'sit down' after tourist 'ignored seatbelt sign and attacked passengers' as jet prepared to land

A Ryanair flight to Ibiza descended into chaos after a brawl broke out when a man allegedly ignored the seatbelt sign and refused to sit down.

Footage taken after the fight erupted shows a group of passengers surrounding a man as a female cabin crew member attempts to break up the commotion.

In the clip, she is heard screaming at a man, telling him to 'sit down'.

According to holidaymaker 28-year-old Harry Watson, who witnessed the fight on board the Ryanair jet on October 5, the plane was preparing to land on the party island when the man stood up to use the bathroom despite the seatbelt sign being on.

Mr Watson described how passengers 'started shouting at him' as the man returned to his seat, with one person 'being very verbal.'

'The lad didn't like it, so he got angry and violent towards the guy, which caused a fight to break out,' Mr Watson explained.

'This happened multiple times.

'The lad started attacking the other passengers and had to be restrained a lot.

'There was then another guy that got up and hit the lad.'

As the fight continued, pilots could not prepare for their descent, causing a delay.

'Everyone got very annoyed after a while, especially because the plane couldn't land and had to go back in the air again,' Mr Watson said.

Upon landing, Spanish police arrested and handcuffed a man and escorted him off the plane.

A spokesperson for Ryanair said: 'Crew on this flight from London Stansted to Ibiza (5 Oct) called ahead for police assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard.

'Police met the aircraft upon landing at Ibiza Airport, and the disruptive passenger was removed.

'Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a respectful and stress-free environment, without unnecessary disruption.'
