A moorland wildfire has been declared a major incident due the number of resources required to fight it.

The blaze near Llangynidr Reservoir, Ebbw Vale in Blaenau Gwent, has been a "challenge due to the wind", according South Wales Fire and Rescue.

Its firefighters have been assisting crews from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service in tackling the blaze since Saturday.

Dyfed-Powys Police said specialist contractors and partner agencies were also involved and specialist appliances including all-terrain vehicles and high-volume pumps were being used.

Llangynidr Road has been closed and the force advised people to avoid the area.
