A fire that forced the closure of a Moray secondary school was caused by a tumble dryer, the council has said.

The fire at Keith Grammar School took hold on Friday evening, resulting in its closure on Monday and Tuesday.

Moray Council said it had now received confirmation that the "small" fire was caused by a tumble dryer in the home economics department.

Pupils have been using online learning, with a return to school planned for Wednesday.

The council said repair work was being carried out, and smoke damage cleaned.

Council leader Kathleen Robertson thanked school staff for their "swift" work with online learning used to minimise disruption.
