The mum of a British TikTok star locked up in Dubai after ‘killing her online lover in self-defence’ has revealed how her daughter is facing ‘awful conditions’.

Brooke George, 23, has been accused of stabbing a British man, 26, to death after she flew out to meet him in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The former John Lewis shop assistant from Gravesend claims she was repeatedly abused by him and turned a knife on him during a struggle.

Her mum, Tess, has said her daughter is ‘suffering’ in detention and enduring ‘physical and mental damage’.

She told : ‘Watching your daughter go through this and being unable to bring her home is heartbreaking.

‘To everyone else, Brooke is a name in a court case. To me, she is my little girl, and I am terrified about what could happen to her.’

uncleared grabs - Brooke George - former John Lewis worker facing death penalty in Dubai if she's found guilty of murder

Tess added: ‘Brooke is locked up in overcrowded conditions at a police station notorious for Human Rights violations.

‘It’s appalling to continue to detain someone for so long pre-trial in such awful conditions.’

Brooke could face the death penalty if she is convicted of murdering her lover, William Treeby, from Kent.

The TikToker was arrested in June as she tried to board a flight back to Britain and charged with premeditated murder.

According to pressure group Detained in Dubai, Brooke met Treeby on Facebook and travelled to Dubai to meet him.

She claims her partner became ‘controlling and abusive’, and ‘assaulted’ her in Jumeirah Village.

The influencer claims she was punched as she begged for her passport to leave.

Brooke says she feared for her life during a struggle and stabbed him after grabbing a kitchen knife ‘within her grasp’ in self defence.

Mum Tess said: ‘We believe Brooke was trying to protect herself. I want the court to look properly at the evidence and everything that happened to her.’

‘My greatest fear is that a decision will be made about her future without her voice truly being heard.’

Daily Mail understands the man she is accused of murdering is William Treeby, pictured, who is also originally from Kent but lives in Dubai / re: Brooke George - former John Lewes worker facing death penalty in Dubai if she's found guilty of murder. Brooke attended a hearing last Wednesday and remains in detention until her next court meeting on October 28.

Her family and lawyers are railing against the conditions she is being kept in while she waits for her trial.

Tess claims Brooke is unable to sleep because of constant bright lights, shining around the clock, and that she has not received sleep medication officials promised to her.

The mum is now allegedly struggling to speak with her daughter because of phone call restrictions.

Tess added: ‘Brooke is barely able to make a telephone call and it gets cut off very quickly.

‘She has now been told she is not allowed to call internationally which is just not true.

‘I haven’t been able to hug her or comfort her except with words on the phone. That part is really distressing.

She continued that Brooke is also ‘not able to exercise and is suffering physically and emotionally.’

‘I am worried about what being in prison is doing to her, what kind of physical and mental damage.’

Radha Stirling, founder of Detained in Dubai who is assisting the family, said: ‘Brooke is suffering terribly. Her family describes a young woman who is increasingly upset, unable to sleep and struggling to maintain even the briefest contact with home.

Story from Jam Press (Brit Murderer Dubai) Pictured: Brooke George. British influencer, 23, accused of murdering boyfriend abroad trapped in notorious detention centre where she 'can't sleep', says her mum A British influencer accused of murdering her boyfriend abroad is now trapped in a notorious detention centre where she ?can?t sleep? according to her mum. Brooke George was charged with the murder of her boyfriend, fellow Brit, William ?Bill? Treeby, 26. While the 23-year-old does not deny she stabbed Mr Treeby, her legal team claims she was acting in self-defence. The Brit from Gravesend, Kent, is currently awaiting her fate at Bur Dubai police station in Dubai, UAE, after her death penalty trial was delayed. However, her detention at the notorious centre is allegedly taking a devastating toll on her, as reported by NeedToKnow. According to Brooke?s family, they fear her mental health is deteriorating rapidly due to the conditions she is being forced to live in. Tess, her mother, claims that bright lights remain in every room, cries and screams from babies echo around the centre and calls home are routinely interrupted. Medication to help her sleep in the stressful location has still reportedly not been provided. On 7 Oct, Brooke attended a court hearing in Arabic via video link where prosecution witnesses had been summoned but failed to do so. The trial was adjourned until 28 Oct, and the court ordered her to remain in detention whilst evidence is gathered from remaining witnesses. The TikTok influencer was arrested at Dubai International Airport the day after the fatal stabbing on June 21 but claims Mr Treeby assaulted her in his apartment. Radha Stirling, founder of Detained in Dubai, is now assisting the family and pleading for urgent medical care to be given to Brooke. Radha said: ?Brooke is suffering terribly. ?Her family describes a young woman who is increasingly upset, unable to sleep and struggling to maintain even the briefest contact with home. ?Her mother is left wondering how much worse things will become before she hears her daughter?s voice again. ?Two minutes on the telephone, followed by an abrupt disconnection, is distressing for everyone involved. ?For Brooke, those calls are a lifeline. For her family, they are the only opportunity to hear how she is coping and offer some reassurance. ?Brooke remains in temporary police detention, with her family reporting constant bright lights, broken sleep and increasing distress. ?These facilities were never designed for long-term habitation. ?British citizens who were locked up there for only hours during the Iran strikes were terrified at the thought of spending days there, let alone months. ?She has been told she could receive medication to help her sleep, yet her mother says nothing has happened. ?These concerns need to be addressed now. Her health cannot be put on hold until the next court hearing. ?We will do everything we can to help. ?Brooke needs to know she has not been forgotten. ?Her family needs to be able to speak to her, and her worsening distress needs proper medical attention. ?Whatever the allegations, she is entitled to humane treatment while her case is heard.? In 2011, British tourist Lee Bradley Brown died at the detention centre whilst in police custody - after being arrested for a verbal altercation with a housekeeper at the luxury Burj Al Arab hotel. It was initially claimed that he died from choking on his own vomit, but a 2022 jury inquest revealed neglect and severe beatings from guards and inmates caused his death. Tess and Ms Stirling continue to raise her case with the Foreign Office and UAE authorities.

An FCDO spokesperson said: ‘We are in contact with a British woman detained in the UAE and are supporting her family. We are in contact with the relevant authorities in the UAE and the UK.’
