A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man on an e-bike.

Bedfordshire Police was called to Dallow Road in Luton at about 22:50 BST on Friday, where they found a seriously injured man who was believed to have been struck by a vehicle. He died shortly afterwards.

The arrested man, who is in his 20s, remains in police custody.

Witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage have been asked to contact police.

Det Insp Andrew Moralee said: "This was an awful incident which has sadly cost a man his life.

"Our thoughts are with his friends and family who have lost a loved one in such dreadful circumstances."

He warned people should not share footage of the incident on social media.

"Please refrain from sharing any such footage and instead contact police.

"It could also form part of vital evidence in our investigation," he added.

A large red and white "Road closed" sign stands in the middle of a road with a bollard next to it. Police cars are parked at right angles in the road in front of it.
