The keyboardist of Mexican indie rock band Camilo Séptimo, his family, their nanny and a pet dog were discovered dead at home.
Jonathan Meléndez, 38, his pregnant wife, a young child and their nanny have been murdered after their bodies were found in their apartment near Mexico City.
Their deaths have shocked the country after the announcement by the state prosecutor yesterday, which identified the musician by his initials J.S.M.O.
Among the victims were his 35-year-old pregnant wife Ana Paola and their three-year-old daughter, along with a 21-year-old Aleida Romero Victorio, the family’s nanny.
The family’s pet dog had also been killed and tied up from its legs, the authorities said.

The couple’s six-year-old child was discovered alive and unharmed, according to the prosecutor.
Ms Paola was around four months pregnant when she died.
Lorena Victorio Cabrera, the 21-year-old’s aunt, told CNN: ‘She was a very hardworking and responsible girl who did not deserve for this to be done to her.’
All the victims had been shot during the slaughter, which took place at around 5.30pm and 7.40pm on Tuesday evening in the family’s penthouse.
Camilo Séptimo paid tribute to one of its original members and his family.
The bank said in a statement on social media: ‘Today we honor and celebrate his life, his music, his light, and what he shared with those of us fortunate enough to know him and walk alongside him.’
Omar García Harfuch, Mexico’s secretary of public security, revealed on social media that two male suspects had been arrested.
One of the suspects is allegedly a business associate of one of the victims, and is claimed to have exploited the relationship to gain entry to the home.
Camilo Séptimo was formed by Meléndez on the keyboard, singer Manuel Mendoza and guitarist Erik Vázquez in 2013.
The band has released four studio albums, with the latest, Jardín de las almas, out in 2023.
Their influences include Daft Punk, Arctic Monkeys and Devendra Banhart.
