
Nigel Farage has responded to Jeremy Clarkson’s claim that using Royal Navy ships to stop Channel migrant crossings is “impossible”.
Writing for , the star condemned the logistics and effectiveness of the Reform UK leader’s controversial plan, dubbed “Operation Fortress”.
Mr Clarkson also said that in his own research, he had not found any evidence to suggest that Mr Farage has ever driven a boat. “How, in the name of all that’s holy, does double-breasted Nige think it would be possible for a large warship to come alongside a much smaller dinghy?”
Responding to Mr Clarkson’s comments during a press conference on Monday (10 August), Mr Farage said that he has in fact “run boats since the mid 1980s”.
