Nigella Lawson has made her Great British Bake Off debut in a new trailer for the upcoming series.

Earlier in the year, the TV cook, 66, was announced to be replacing Dame Prue Leith, who first joined the show in 2017.

In a statement shared at the time, Lawson said: “I’m uncharacteristically rather lost for words right now! Of course it’s daunting to be following in the footsteps of Prue Leith and Mary Berry before her, great dames both, but I’m also bubbling with excitement.”

In the teaser released on Tuesday, August 25, the new judge can be seen alongside her new fellow judge Paul Hollywood, as well as presenters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.

Hollywood first enters the shot holding a fork, staring at the camera as he says “Go one then.” Hammond and Fielding then join, both looking at the camera with utensils in hand.

Lawson finally enters the frame, clearing her throat and pushing her way through the group to make a beeline for the camera with her fork.

A graphic on screen appeared saying “the bake is back” over a brightly-coloured and flashing background.

Filming is complete on the series, which will air from next month.

Lawson was pictured alongside her co-stars for the first time earlier this month on her first day of filming in the Bake Off tent.

She had said in a social media post that she was “a bit nervous, very excited, and extremely happy” ahead of her debut, but has “loved every minute”.

One of the most recognisable faces on TV, Lawson became a household name in the late 1990s with her hugely successful cookbooks and cookery shows.

The Oxford graduate worked as a journalist before becoming a food writer, having produced multiple bestselling cookery books including How To Be A Domestic Goddess, which won her the British Book Award for author of the year in 2001.

TV work followed, starting with the Channel 4 show Nigella Bites, before she crossed over to ITV and then the BBC.

Dame Prue joined the show in 2017 when it moved from BBC to Channel 4, replacing original Bake Off judge Dame Mary Berry.
