Tottenham will look to hoist themselves out of the relegation zone as they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this afternoon. The early days of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full campaign have been somewhat frustrating. An eye-watering summer outlay is yet to yield on-pitch results, with the season’s first two outings producing defeats by Newcastle and Brentford. Spurs have failed to score in either.

“Kulusevski started [training] with us at the beginning of the week, and then the last two days, a small, small problem, stopped [him from training].
“But I think he’s in a good way. It’s going very well. I already said the medical staff is very high level.
“We can be positive with him. I’m looking forward to having Deki in the squad.”

There are a handful of absentees for Tottenham today, as ever. Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert and Dejan Kulusevski all remain sidelined, the latter having suffered yet another setback in his recovery from a knee injury. More on that later.

Fit-again Savio is expected to slot back into the starting lineup having shaken off a minor injury. Omar Marmoush is in line to start again, while Tosin Arabaioyo and Mykhailo Mudryk await debuts.
