One killed and two pulled alive from helicopter crash into Florida bay

A helicopter has crashed into Biscayne Bay, Florida, with at least one killed and two taken to hospital.

Footage shows the helicopter’s flotation device upside down in the water. Officials were also seen standing next to a tarp covering what appears to be a body.

It is believed a captain of a nearby boat reported the crash to the Coast Guard.

It comes after nine people were killed after a private jet crashed near West Palm Beach on Sunday.

The victims were named as 45-year-old tech tycoon Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, 40, their young children Emma and Charlie, the family’s nanny Anita Maria Apellido Cetina, and family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr.

Helen’s father confirmed the deaths, saying: ‘It’s quite a blow. We had a daughter, her husband and two grandchildren on the plane.’

The co-pilot of the doomed flight has also been named as Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, a 20-year-old aviation enthusiast who received her pilot license as a teenager.

Her mother and stepdad confirmed to The New York Post that she was the co-pilot on board when the aircraft crashed.

‘I wanted her to live her dream, but I knew that her dream was going to be the thing that would take her away from me,’ her mother said.

‘I knew that a plane was gonna take her away from me. I always knew it, but I was so proud of her. I know she was living her dream.’
