A family whose house was badly damaged in the Stourbridge fire have returned home to find jewellery was stolen, police said.

The burglary took place on Racecourse Lane, West Midlands Police said, and it was thought to have happened in the last week.

The fire broke out at the nearby golf course on 13 August, destroying 19 houses across five streets.

The homeowner was one of those evacuated on the day of the fire and they then returned home over the weekend to find items missing, including jewellery, watches and a coin collection, detectives said.

People should get in touch if they saw any of the items being sold online, they said.
