The family of a woman found dead at the base of cliffs in Alderney have thanked the tiny island's community during an "unimaginably painful week".
Hannah Benfield, 34, was found in the sea at the base of cliffs in the west of the island on Monday, Guernsey Police said.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of her murder and he remains in police custody.
In a statement on social media posted on behalf of the family, they thanked the island's "very special community" for their support.
It is the first murder investigation in Alderney in about 30 years, according to police.
The most northerly of the Channel Islands, Alderney has a population of about 2,000.
Officers have said "the impact of an incident of this nature" on Alderney's small community "cannot be overstated".
The family, which runs Alderney Farm Shop, said: "We just want to say the biggest thank you to everyone who has supported us over these last few days.
"It's been an unimaginably painful week and the kindness, messages, hugs, offers of help and simple acts of support from people across the island have meant more than we can say.
"Our incredible staff are much more than staff... they're our extended family. We're looking after each other, getting through this together and doing what we know Hannah would want us to do."

Islanders have been invited to pay their respects by leaving floral tributes and a selection of free flowers has been made available on the Children's Centre Farm Stand.
Alderney Parish Church said it had opened its doors for anyone who needs somewhere quiet to "sit, to cry, to be angry, to pray, or just to be".
"We didn't just lose a parishioner yesterday; like so many of you, I feel this loss personally," a statement said.
"We hold her family close, especially in these coming days.
"There are no easy words for grief like this, only the promise that we carry it together, and that we don't have to carry it alone."
