A 54-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run in Dundee.
Police Scotland said the man was knocked down by a dark-coloured hatchback on Arran Drive, at about 19:50 on Thursday.
He was taken to Ninewells Hospital where staff have described his condition as critical.
Officers said it was possible the vehicle, which was last seen in the South Road area, was damaged by the impact and urged anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
Det Insp Kevin Mollison said: "A man is in a critical condition and we are working to establish the full circumstances and identify who is responsible.
"I am appealing to anyone who was in Arran Drive and the surrounding area to get in touch with us with any information.
"If you have doorbell cameras or dashcams, please check your footage."
