A 32-year-old police officer from Shetland has gone on trial facing multiple rape and sexual assault charges.
Carmichael John Williamson - known as John Williamson - denies charges at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The first day of the trial heard evidence from a witness who said she was too drunk to give consent to sex with the accused.
The woman said she had gone into a freeze response during another incident.
Williamson, of Burra, has denied a series of charges including an allegation that he assaulted and raped the woman in April 2022 at locations in Shetland while she was intoxicated and unable to provide consent.
He is further accused of raping her in August 2020 at a different location in Shetland and of sexually assaulting her.
He has also denied assaulting and raping a teenage girl in 2014 and 2015, and of having sexual activity with the girl when she was underage.
The trial, before judge John Morris KC, continues.
