Police renew appeal into death of biker, 19, who fell into sea after cliffside crash

Police have renewed an appeal for information about the death of a 19-year-old motorcyclist who fell into the sea following a crash.

Officers from North Wales Police were called to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle on Marine Drive on the Great Orme in Llandudno, Conwy county, at 22:30 GMT on October 29.

A multi-agency response including police, the RNLI and HM Coastguard was launched and the man was recovered from the water. He was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, where he was pronounced dead.

Three males, aged between 17 and 18, were arrested and interviewed in connection with the incident, and have since been released while enquiries continue.

White markings can be seen on a stretch of coastal road and on the pavement. A stone wall on the left hand side of the road also has some markings. The sea and another stretch of headland can be seen on the other side of the wall.

An investigation into the incident is under way and police have renewed their appeal for anyone with information or video footage to contact them.

Since the initial public appeal, the force said it had traced a black-coloured vehicle believed to have been in the area at the time.

Det Insp Tim Evans, of the serious collision investigation unit, said: "I believe that there are people within our local community who have direct information which could assist this investigation and provide answers on what led to the tragic and devastating death of a young man, loved by so many."

Police have urged the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the collision or make comments on social media.
