Forensic teams remain at the scene of a security alert in Lurgan where residents have been evacuated from their homes.
A suspicious object is being examined in James Street.
The street has been closed to traffic and pedestrians, police have said.
Democratic Unionist Party councillor Peter Haire said the council has opened Lurgan Town Hall for those affected.
He said it is "very concerning and disruptive" for local school children and this sort of activity was not wanted in the community.
A property appears to be the focus of the investigation behind the cordon on James Street. It is cordoned off on Hill Street Presbyterian Church.
It is understood to be a quiet residential street, close to a primary school and a special needs school.
Parents have told local representatives they faced disruption as a result of the security alert.
The bomb disposal team has left the row of houses.
