A ceremony honouring the late niece of Rob Lowe has been held by her family, a month after her death at the age of 13.

The family has held a private ceremony for the teenager over the weekend, with only close friends and family in attendance, as reported by PEOPLE.

Announcing her death on September 29, her family said in a statement: “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.

“She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

On October 1, the Los Angeles medical examiner's office confirmed that she died of suicide.

She was pronounced dead at 1.14am on Tuesday, September 29 at a local hospital.

A source had previously told the outlet that Rob had been one of the family members supporting his brother following the death of Fiona, describing the brothers as “very close”.

“Their family and friends have rallied around Chad and Kim,” the source said. “Everyone’s heartbroken.”

“They already went through so much with losing their home last year,” the source added. “Right now, the focus is on being there for them in any way they can.”

Last year, the family lost their home in the January 2025 Pacific Palisades Fire.

Writing in an Instagram post at the time, Chad praised his daughters’ resilience to the loss of their home, praising their attitude as “nothing short of remarkable”.

Fiona, the second daughter of Chad and Kim, was born on November 16, 2012. Her middle name, Hepler, was Lowe’s late mother’s maiden name and is also his brother Rob Lowe’s middle name.
