Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back on UK soil amid their unexpected move from California, with school parents in the Cotswolds reportedly receiving letters of guidance about their children’s potential royal classmates.

Last month, the country was left in shock as it was reported that, six years after “Megxit” and amid ongoing tensions with the rest of the royal family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are moving back to Britain with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The family touched down earlier this week; while little information has been officially released about their surprise relocation, it is known that the family will live outside of London – reportedly the Cotswolds – and the young royals have been enrolled in school.

And according to a new report, parents at an unnamed private school within the countryside patch where Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, are said to be house-hunting have been contacted about new rules appearing to reference Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, joining as prospective students.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Page Six: “The message sent to families essentially said that, from time to time, some families joining the school may attract a greater level of public or media interest.”

The letter is said to have encouraged “a safe, happy, and private environment” for all students, with parents and carers reminded “not to photograph or film other children without permission, or share photographs, information or details about pupils or their families on social media”.

Harry and Meghan have been living in Montecito, California for years, with Harry saying last year that he “can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK” after losing their case for state-funded security.

The news of the family’s return to the UK was therefore met with utter surprise; no official reason has been given, but many have speculated that Harry may want to be back for his father, King Charles, amid the monarch’s ongoing treatment for prostate cancer.

It has been reported that King Charles was only made aware that his youngest child is returning with his family days before the news leaked to the public.

That the Sussexes would relocate to the Cotswolds makes sense, as the area speaks to both Harry’s history and Meghan’s Hollywood connections.

In recent areas, the area, which covers five counties in the south-west of England, has become home to a host of high-profile stars, from the Beckhams to Ellen Degeneres.

Harry also spent much of his childhood around Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, including at his father’s private residence, Highgrove, in Tetbury.

Former actress Meghan, meanwhile, is said to be “in talks” for a role in season three of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen.
