Scotland glows as Weather Watchers catch beautiful sunrises

Thicker patterns of clouds largely cover the sun but the remaining blue sky is given an orange colour as it rises above the water. Send in the clouds

A chilly start to the morning caused by clear skies overnight led to the BBC Weather Watchers sending in photos of gleaming sunrises across Scotland.

She went on to say that sunny and dry conditions may start worsen as wind and rain move in. So, here is a selection of today's sunrise pictures to enjoy in the meantime.

The sun is low on the horizon over a field where four cows are grazing under the entirely clear blue sky.
The amber glow of the sun can be seen at the end of a straight tree-lined path in a green park. The glow is illuminating part of the gravel path giving it an orange hue while much of the surrounding grass remains in shade.
The sun can be seen rising on the left hand side of the scene, over distant woodland and a green field which separates another patch of woodland close to the photographer's position.
The sun rises over hills on the horizon into a clear blue sky. The photographer is stood with tall trees on their right and a family home on the left, with the sun rising between the two.
The sun rising over a hill on the opposite side of a body of water illuminates the horizon while its orange reflection shimmers on top of the water where a single swan is seen close to the bank.
Thick, grey clouds cover most of the sky before the orange hue of the sun spreads out across the horizon over a few coastal houses and a small area of woodland.
The sun rises over another island in Shetland as the photographer looks over a fence and cottage on the coast near Sandwick. Thicker clouds can be seen in the distance, but close by the sky remains clear.
A pale yellow sun on the horizon rises over a shallow, rocky body of water while clusters of clouds pass by overhead.
An early morning photo capturing the sun rising over a clear loch and small hills in the Western Isles. The sky is largely clear with a few small tufts of cloud in the distance.

These photographs have been submitted to the BBC through the public Weather Watcher's service. More information can be found here.
