Sir Cliff Richard announces new album covering The Beatles and Harry Styles

Sir Cliff Richard is releasing his 48th studio album, which will consist of covers of number one tracks by artists such as The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Harry Styles.
The award-winning musician, 85, will reimagine classic and contemporary chart-topping singles from the past eight decades on the 12-track record, titled Only Number Ones.
He has recorded his own renditions of famous songs such as Norman Greenbaum’s 1969 hit Spirit In The Sky, as well as I’m A Believer by The Monkees and White Christmas by Bing Crosby.

Sir Cliff said: “I suggested to Warner Music that I record an album of songs that made it to number one. Thank heavens they agreed!
“I listened to dozens of songs and chose 12 of my favourites.
“This record is my tribute to fabulous artists who had recorded wonderful tracks that achieved the number one position.”
The tracklist includes covers of former One Direction singer Styles’ first number one as a soloist, Sign Of The Times, along with From Me To You by The Beatles.
All I Have To Do Is Dream by The Everly Brothers and My Sweet Lord by former Beatles member George Harrison are among the songs covered by Sir Cliff.

Other tracks include Rock Around The Clock by Bill Haley And His Comets; Don’t Give Up On Us by David Soul; and Roy Orbison’s hit Oh, Pretty Woman.
A rendition of Return To Sender by Presley is also featured on the record, which will be released on November 27.
The deluxe edition will also feature 14 of Sir Cliff’s own UK number one singles, including We Don’t Talk Anymore, The Young Ones, Bachelor Boy, Summer Holiday and Congratulations.
The album was recorded in February, and its 2026 release coincides with the 67th anniversary of his first number one single Living Doll.
The track was recorded by Sir Cliff and The Drifters in 1959 and became the bestselling single in the UK that year according to the Official Charts Company, and it also won an Ivor Novello Award.

Ahead of the release of his upcoming record, Sir Cliff is holding a special afternoon tea in London one day after his 86th birthday, with fans who pre-order Only Number Ones to be offered the chance to take part.
Sir Cliff is the third best-selling artist in UK singles chart history, having achieved 14 chart-topping tracks, seven number one albums and three Brit Awards in his decades-long career.
A former actor, Sir Cliff is also famed for appearing in popular films including Wonderful To Be Young, Wonderful Life and Summer Holiday.
