Six arrested after woman found dead in north London

Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 23-year-old woman in north London.

Police were called at 09:33 BST on Thursday, following concerns for the welfare of a woman at a residential address on Bollinder Place, Clerkenwell.

Four women, aged 20, 21, 23, and 26, and two men, aged 21 and 24 were arrested at the scene. All six have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Work is ongoing to trace the woman's next-of-kin, who will be supported by specially trained officers once identified.

Ch Supt Jason Stewart said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the young woman who has lost her life.

"We understand that news of an incident like this will cause concern within the local community."

He said that the death appears to be an "isolated incident" with no wider risk to the public but that officers will "continue to be visible in the area".

Det Ch Insp Paul Waller said: "Our investigation is progressing at pace and detectives are working to establish exactly what happened in the time leading up to this woman's death."

He added that detectives want to speak with anyone with information the woman's death.
