A Scottish League Two side has warned fans they will be reported to police and given a stadium ban if they bring in anything that could be used as "missiles or weapons".

It comes after the weekend match between Annan Athletic and Stirling Albion at Galabank.

The club said stewards searched bags and confiscated two small polythene bags containing golf balls.

A further search of fans standing with the suspects found one with "potential sharp objects" in their pocket.

An Annan Athletic spokesperson said: "The concerning aspect for the club is these were regular fans bringing items that could be viewed as missiles or weapons into the ground.

"Whilst there may have been no malicious intent from the parties, this is a concerning development for all involved at the club."

The board said that any repeat attempt to bring such items into the ground would face the "severest of consequences".

The statement added: "All items will be confiscated, the individuals will be reported directly to the police and a stadium ban will be put in place to prevent entry to Galabank."
