Taylor Swift addresses critics of her relationship with husband Travis Kelce in a new song named after his home town.

The pop superstar has released four new songs as an addition to her hugely successful album The Life of A Showgirl, marking her first new music since the couple got married on July 3.

The new tracks on The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore are called Patient Zero, Cleveland!, Pink Clouding and Babylon.

Cleveland is the city in Ohio where Kelce grew up.

She sings in the chorus of that track: “He already took me to Cleveland / And showed me The Heights, so hate all you like / This is the love of my life.”

In the final chorus she alludes to her wedding, which took place in Madison Square Garden in New York, singing: “Now I’m wearing white, so hate all you like/This is the love of my life.”

She also sheds light on how accepting her relationship, singing in the bridge: “You only need to find one person in this entire world / Who doesn’t find you completely insufferable / And I have an important announcement to make / I found mine (That’s right).”

Swift previously explained that the songs on the expanded edition of Life Of A Showgirl were not left over from the original album but were instead penned after the record was a hit.

She wrote them after travelling to Sweden to celebrate its success with producers Max Martin and Shellback.

She wrote on Instagram: “Really we ​just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the ‌moment ⁠we were in.”

“But there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs.”

A music video for Patient Zero, starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, will be shown at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

At the ceremony, Taylor Swift will become the first person to receive MTV’s new Artist Director award, which celebrates musicians who direct their own videos.
