Teenager arrested over death of 21-year-old in city centre

A teenager has been arrested over the death of a man after a disturbance in Glasgow city centre.

Daniel Colrain, 21, was found with serious injuries in Royal Exchange Square at about 03:05 on Sunday. He died in hospital the following day.

Police Scotland said a 19-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death and inquiries were ongoing.

A second 19-year-old man was previously arrested in connection with the disturbance and released pending further investigation.

Another man, aged 21, was also assaulted and suffered minor injuries.

A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with this and is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.

Police have appealed for information about the attack on Colrain and have set up a dedicated portal where tips can be submitted anonymously.

The force said his family were being supported by specialist officers and confirmed increased patrols would be carried out in the area.
