Thousands of homes have been left without water in north London due to a burst pipe in Muswell Hill.

The problem, which was first reported at around 6:45pm on Monday, has left several postcodes with low pressure, or no water at all.

Thames Water is attempting to remedy the issue on Woodside Avenue in Muswell Hill, but households in the postcodes N6, N19, NW2, NW3, NW6, and NW11 are still experiencing disruption.

A Thames Water spokesperson said in a statement: "Our teams remain on site and are continuing work to repair a burst water main on Woodside Avenue.

"Teams worked overnight and made several network changes to help restore supplies, significantly reducing the number of customers without water.

"Most customers remain in supply, although some may experience lower pressure than usual. During periods of higher demand, some customers may also experience short interruptions to their supply.

"We are planning to open a bottled water station this morning to support customers who may have been affected. Details of the location and opening times will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.

“We are also arranging bottled water deliveries for customers on our Priority Services Register who may need additional assistance.”

In a post on X, Camden Council said it was “aware some residents in Camden may currently be without water.” The council added it was in contact with Thames Water.

The Standard has approached Camden Council and Thames Water for comment.
