Tottenham’s transfer Deadline Day has kicked into gear with the first deal of the day.

Spurs are expected to be busy as an extraordinary summer window slams shut.

A record-breaking summer window has seen the likes of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Savio and Omar Marmoush come through the doors.

But a deal for Iliman Ndiaye broke down, allowing Manchester City to swoop in ahead of an expected announcement today.

There should be at least three more deals confirmed today, with Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo set to join from Chelsea as Kevin Danso leaves for Sunderland.

But, first, young defender Kota Takai has left on loan, moving to Belgium after a similar spell with Borussia Monchengladbach last season.

A club statement read: “Kota Takai has joined Sint-Truidense VV in the Belgian Pro League on loan for the rest of the 2026/27 season.

“The Japan international defender was signed from J1 League Kawasaki Frontale in the summer of 2025.

“He joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan for the second half of last season, making his Bundesliga debut against FC Augsburg on 11 January. He went on to make eight appearances.

“An Asian Under-23 Cup winner and 2024 Olympian with Japan, Kota has four senior caps to his name.”
