Tottenham are relaunching their Hall of Fame as part of efforts to celebrate the club's history and reconnect supporters.

The announcement comes on the eve of the 144th anniversary of the club's formation, with the revamped Hall of Fame set to include former players, managers and other figures who have made significant contributions to Spurs.

The original Hall of Fame was launched in 2004, with 45 players and managers inducted over the following 12 years.

Among those honoured were legendary manager Bill Nicholson, members of Tottenham's 1961 Double-winning side and record appearance-holder Steve Perryman.

The initiative was paused following the closure of White Hart Lane in 2017 and Tottenham's move to their new stadium.

It has now been revived following discussions with the club's Fan Advisory Board, with the new format designed to reflect a broader history of Tottenham. For the first time, it will also include former members of the women's team.

Four categories will be used for annual inductions: a men's player or manager from before 1990; a men's player or manager from 1990 onwards; a women's player or manager from any era; and a club figure who has made a significant contribution on or off the pitch.

This year's inductees have been selected unanimously by the club and Fan Advisory Board and will be revealed over the coming days.

They will be formally presented to supporters before Tottenham's Premier League home match against Aston Villa on 19 September.

A special induction evening will then take place at the stadium on 21 September, when a new Hall of Fame wall near the players' tunnel will be unveiled.

The installation will form part of Tottenham's stadium tour, while fans will also be able to watch highlights of the ceremony through the club's digital channels.

A dedicated Hall of Fame section will also be added to Tottenham's website, providing supporters around the world with a permanent archive of the club's celebrated figures.

In future years, nominees will be selected using set criteria involving the club, Fan Advisory Board and former players, before supporters have their say through a public vote.
