Transfer news LIVE!
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham must start stepping up their January plans, with less than two months to go into the winter window opens. The Gunners are expected to explore signing a new striker in light of Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz continuing to struggle in attack, with Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi of particular interest, and the likes of Endrick and Julian Alvarez linked.
Man Utd are decided to keep hold of beleagured manager Michael Carrick for now, but a change is still expected this month should results not improve, with Roma and Aston Villa up next. They too will look to strengthen in January either way, with Ivan Toney an attacking target and Jarrad Brathwaite linked to bolster the defence.
One deal which looks very likely to happen is Alex Scott’s move from Bournemouth to Chelsea, while the Blues have cooled interest in Lamine Camara who could be joining Liverpool. Tottenham have also been linked with Scott and Junior Kroupi, and a new striker is likely to be of interest when the window reopens. Unai Emery stance on Man Utd job
Unai Emery is happy at Aston Villa amid links with Manchester United.
Michael Carrick is set to remain in charge for at least another seven days, with games against Roma and Villa to come.
The likes of Eddie Howe, Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann - all free agents - are also said to be of interest, but Emery is the reported ‘dream appointment’.
But journalist David Ornstein does not expect movement on that front. He told NBC Sports: “The likes of Conte, Nagelsmann, Howe, you would imagine could be appointed at pretty short notice.
“So, I don’t think you would need great negotiations in that sense.
“But with Unai Emery, who definitely has admirers at Manchester United, why wouldn’t you like him?
“He’s under contract at Aston Villa. There’s no release clause, as I understand it, and Villa have no intention of letting him go.
“They think he’s happy there and will continue.”

Man Utd turn to Ivan Toney
Manchester United are considering a January move for Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney as they look to cover for the injured Benjamin Sesko.
The England international is reportedly open to returning to the Premier League, despite being settled in Saudi Arabia.
According to CaughtOffside, United have on from on Dominic Calvert-Lewin after learning he is close to signing a new Leeds contract.
Toney is one of several options under consideration, with the club prioritising an experienced goalscorer on a short-term deal rather than a major investment.
Bournemouth chief responds to Chelsea interest in Alex Scott
Bournemouth owner Bill Foley insists the club “haven’t given up” trying to convince Chelsea target Alex Scott to sign a new contract with the Cherries, .
Bournemouth rejected a £64million bid for Scott from Chelsea in the summer and subsequent approaches from other major clubs in England but have since softened their not-for-sale stance.
But Foley and the Cherries have not lost hope that Scott might still commit his future to the south coast club.
He told TalkSport: “At this point, we're convinced we're the right place for Alex to be and to stay, and we'll keep on addressing the contract issues with Alex as we move through this year. We'd love to have Alex stay here.”

Desire Doue to snub Arsenal and Chelsea
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have been dealt a setback in their pursuit of Desire Doue, with Paris Saint-Germain making progress in contract negotiations with the winger.
Bayern Munich are also monitoring the 21-year-old France international, who has attracted interest from several of Europe’s leading clubs.
According to TEAMtalk, PSG are advancing in talks over a new deal for Doue as they look to secure his long-term future beyond 2029.
Liverpool make new contact over Lamine Camara
Liverpool are trying to beat Chelsea to a deal for Lamine Camara.
The Senegal midfielder was poised to move to Stamford Bridge for £47.1m on transfer deadline day in the summer as Xabi Alonso looked to quickly replace Enzo Fernandez, only for Monaco to unexpectedly pull the plug at the 11th hour.
Chelsea are said to remain interested in Camara, who also has admirers at Anfield.
According to The Sun, Liverpool have now made further contact with the player’s camp and asked to be kept closely informed of any developments moving forward.
Chelsea make Estevao loan decision
Xabi Alonso has insisted Estevao is not available for loan in January.
The Brazilian has been peripheral at Chelsea this season, but has been handed a surprise start as the Blues host Man United this afternoon.
It has been reported that Estevao’s frustration with his situation had led club’s to enquire about potential January transfers, but speaking on Friday, Alonso ruled that out unequivocally.
“No discussions about that,” Alonso said at his pre-match press conference. “It’s no secret that all players want to be on the pitch.
“When any of them haven’t had enough minutes because of my decision, I have to take the responsibility for that. But everyone has to be ready because in any game they could be important. Este, his training and his attitude has been good.”
Arteta issues update on Rice contract talks
Mikel Arteta believes it is only "a matter of time" until Declan Rice signs a new long-term contract at Arsenal.
The 27-year-old has entered the final two years of his current deal, which he signed when joining the club for £105million in the summer of 2023.
Talks over a new contract began earlier this year and there has always been confidence on both sides that an agreement will be reached.
It is understood that Rice is close to signing that deal, one that will earn him a significant salary increase and take him close to Bukayo Saka on £350,000-a-week as the club's best-paid player.
Official confirmation of that extension has not yet come but Arteta is in no doubt that a positive outcome will be reached.
Asked if he is expecting talks to be finalised soon, Arteta said: "Yeah.”
Man Utd reach agreement over Carrick sack decision
Manchester United have decided not to sack Michael Carrick following their defeat by Chelsea.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by the Blues on another dark day at Stamford Bridge, taking their winless run to nine matches in all competitions.
Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer got the goals as Lisandro Martinez was sent off for two bookable offences in west London as further pressure piled on the under-fire United head coach.
Now, however, it appears that he will be retained in-post for the club’s next two matches, up to the November international break.
