Transfer targets: Gilberto Mora, Erling Haaland and JJ Gabriel

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are all back on the hunt for statement new signings as the January window edges closer. Arsenal have not given up hope on Julian Alvarez and are among the several clubs believed to be monitoring Erling Haaland’s situation at Manchester City. The Gunners are also said to have launched a bid for Mexico wonderkid Gilberto Mora as they look to tie up new contracts for Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber.

Liverpool learn new asking price for William Gomes

Liverpool will have to pay £85m if they are to sign William Gomes.

The Reds have been strongly linked with the Porto winger of late, with suggestions that he could even be the new Luis Diaz.

Fierce rivals Manchester United are also said to be interested in Gomes, a 20-year-old Brazilian youth international.

But per A Bola in Portugal, Porto have now increased Gomes’ release clause at the Estadio do Dragao to €100m in a bid to ward off interest in his services.

JJ Gabriel holds new Bayern Munich talks

JJ Gabriel has held fresh talks with Bayern Munich, according to reports.

The 15-year-old sensation stunned Manchester United last month when he informed them of his desire to leave the club with immediate effect, just days before he would have been handed a likely senior debut by Michael Carrick in the Carabao Cup.

He has since been subject to interest from several huge clubs around Europe, with Bayern now said to have held more discussions with his representatives, per Sky Germany.

However, the reigning Bundesliga champions have apparently not made an official offer to Gabriel’s camp having not received a firm commitment amid fears that he prefers a switch to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Arsenal hijack Liverpool with Gilberto Mora bid

Arsenal have reportedly made an opening approach for Gilberto Mora.

The Mexico wonderkid, 17, is attracting huge transfer attention from across Europe after a terrific start to his career that has already seen him earn 13 senior international caps and feature at a home World Cup this summer.

Liverpool had been heavily linked with a move for Mora in recent weeks, though Mexican outlet El Porvenir now claim that Arsenal have approached his current club Tijuana over a potential transfer.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica are also said to be eyeing Mora, who is reported to have a release clause in his contract valued at just £21.2m.

Man Utd could bank Scott McTominay transfer windfall

Manchester United could receive a transfer windfall from the sale of Scott McTominay.

The Scotland midfielder has thrived since leaving Old Trafford for Serie A giants Napoli in a £25.7m transfer in the summer of 2024.

The Daily Star now report that McTominay - who on Saturday made his return to Napoli action four weeks after heart surgery in their 3-0 home win over Frosinone - is attracting further interest from clubs around Europe, including Real Madrid.

Napoli are rumoured to be struggling to agree new contract terms with the 29-year-old, on whom Man Utd are understood to retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

Arsenal handed boost in Erling Haaland race

Arsenal are also said to be among a number of heavyweight European clubs closely monitoring Erling Haaland’s situation at Manchester City.

Haaland’s future at the Etihad Stadium - along with that of several other top City stars - has become subject to intense speculation since the club were found guilty by an independent commission of all charges related to breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons.

City deny any wrongdoing and have appealed against the verdict.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are included in the list of clubs keeping close tabs on Haaland’s situation, though face stiff competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

They speculate that Haaland’s desire to break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League scoring record could be a decisive factor for Arsenal.

Arsenal close to finalising triple deal

Arsenal are close to a triple deal that will see them finalise new contracts for three key players, reports suggest.

The Gunners earlier this week announced that manager Mikel Arteta had put pen to paper on a new four-year contract in north London that will run until the summer of 2030.

That was quickly followed by claims of a new bumper deal for Declan Rice that will take him close to Arsenal’s top earner Bukayo Saka.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal are now hopeful of finalising new deals for Rice, captain Martin Odegaard and versatile defender Jurrien Timber during the November international break.

Fichjaes reports that Real Madrid are willing to consider Kylian Mbappe's departure after being disappointed by his behaviour this season.

Bayern prepare Barca raid

Reports in Germany claim that Bayern Munich are preparing a January move for Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo. Barcelona could consider a sale and are expected to demand between €80–€90million to enter negotiations.
