The Gunners are also being linked with the likes of Gustavo Varela, Nicolo Tresoldi, Antonio Nusa, Xavi Espart and Kim Min-jae as Mikel Arteta targets a flurry of further deals in the New Year.
Chelsea and Liverpool have received a new message in the race for Alex Scott, while Manchester United could overhaul their defensive options as they go back in for Lewis Hall, Adrien Truffert and Jarrad Branthwaite. Man Utd appear to be split on their preferred successor to under-fire manager Michael Carrick, with Julian Nagelsmann, Antonio Conte, Eddie Howe and even Unai Emery all potentially in the frame. However, they would have to pay a world-record fee for Fabian Hurzeler, who does not want to leave Brighton anyway.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a stunning return to Liverpool, who are also monitoring Kylian Mbappe’s situation closely as they chase Gilberto Mora and Chelsea’s Malo Gusto, while a new striker is top of Tottenham’s wishlist with eyes on Endrick. New Chelsea transfer plan explained
Gus Poyet believes Chelsea’s recruitment strategy changed because the owners realised “what the fans want”, .
The former Chelsea midfielder has also praised the club’s owners for their highest-profile signings, claiming all three players purchased under BlueCo that cost north of £100m have proven shrewd investments.
Chelsea’s most expensive signings since Roman Abramovich’s May 2022 sale of the club have been Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for £106.8m, Moises Caicedo from Brighton for £115m, and the July arrival of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a club-record £117m.
They sold Fernandez to Manchester City this summer for £125m.
Chelsea flop Liam Delap speaks out on 'rubbish' bomb squad exile
Liam Delap insists he will “never regret” moving to Chelsea but says it was “a bit rubbish” spending time in the infamous ‘bomb squad’ before his move to Nottingham Forest was finalised, .
Delap joined Chelsea last summer when they triggered the £30m relegation release clause in his Ipswich contract, yet the Englishman underwhelmed at Stamford Bridge and scored only three goals in 47 appearances.
The Blues then sold the 23-year-old to Forest for £45m plus £5m in add-ons this summer.
Delap had been training with a small group of outgoing first-team players during Chelsea’s pre-season and the first couple of games of their campaign, rather than working with new manager Xabi Alonso.

Pedro Neto issues Chelsea update after 'crazy' transfer window
Pedro Neto says he feels at home at Chelsea despite a summer where the transfer window drove him “a little bit crazy”, .
The Portugal winger had interest from Manchester City and Al-Hilal and was also linked with Liverpool and Tottenham, the Blues’ opponents on Saturday, during a summer in which his future appeared uncertain.
However, it is understood that new manager Xabi Alonso was keen to keep him and Chelsea were also reluctant to let him leave.
Man Utd face world-record fee for Fabian Hurzeler
Manchester United appear to face huge hurdles if they want to make Fabian Hurzeler their next manager.
The highly-rated Brighton boss is rumoured to be a key target to replace the under-fire Michael Carrick following his excellent work at the Amex Stadium.
However, The Telegraph report that there is no release clause included in Hurzeler’s current contract at Brighton, who would almost certainly demand a world-record fee for his services as a result.
To make matters worse for United, talkSPORT insist that the German has no interest in taking the Old Trafford job at the moment anyway.

New Man Utd manager shortlist revealed
Manchester United’s shortlist of potential managers to replace Michael Carrick appears to have been confirmed.
Carrick is under enormous pressure after a torrid start to his first full season in charge hit a new low with Wednesday’s 4-1 Champions League humiliation by Como, which was followed by explosive public criticism from captain Bruno Fernandes.
Man Utd insist it is business as usual and that Carrick will take charge of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, despite all the mounting speculation.
But there are suggestions that the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Antonio Conte have already been approached, with United’s director of football Jason Wilcox and head of recruitment Christopher Vivell said to be split on their preferred candidate.
There are reports that Wilcox wants Eddie Howe, with Aston Villa’s Unai Emery also rumoured to be a “dream target” for United.
Fabian Hurzeler is also in their sights, though that doesn’t look to be happening. More on that in a moment.
Alex Scott to Chelsea twist after new update
Chelsea and Liverpool have received a new update in the race for Alex Scott.
The Premier League heavyweights are expected to battle it out in January for the England midfielder, who could have a price tag worth up to £100m.
However, in an interview with talkSPORT on Thursday, Bournemouth owner Bill Foley insists that the club have not yet given up hope of agreeing a new long-term contract with Scott.
The 23-year-old has rejected multiple previous offers, with his current deal due to expire in the summer of 2028.
Arsenal plot shock triple transfer swoop
Arsenal are plotting shock moves for Alex Baena, Nicolo Tresoldi and Can Uzun, reports claim.
The Gunners are expected to be very busy in the January transfer window after a disappointing end to the summer that has so far not hindered their Premier League title defence.
There continues to be much focus on Julian Alvarez, though it is now being reported by FootballTransfers that they are instead reigniting their interest in Atletico Madrid team-mate Alex Baena.
CaughtOffside also claim that Arsenal have already made an approach for Eintracht Frankfurt sensation Uzun and are exploring a deal for Club Brugge frontman Tresoldi, who is represented by the same agency - ‘11Wins’.
Kroupi plan amid Arsenal interest
Arsenal transfer target Eli Junior Kroupi is on course to make his return from injury earlier than expected, following an update on a potential January exit from Bournemouth.
As reported by in the summer, Kroupi was a target for Arsenal after scoring 13 goals in his first Premier League season, having joined Bournemouth for £10million from Lorient.
Amid significant interest in Kroupi, it was understood that a bid of close to £100m would likely be required to test Bournemouth's resolve.
However, the Cherries' stance was that the 20-year-old was not for sale, with club insiders believing that Kroupi would benefit from another season with them and their position being strengthened by securing European football.
Ultimately, Kroupi stayed put and while Arsenal, among other clubs, have been tipped to make a move for the Frenchman in the winter window, have recently reported that Bournemouth are still not willing to entertain any offers in January.
Martinez decides next move
Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are interested in Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez's future at Old Trafford is uncertain following his explosive interview after United's defeat to Atletico in the Champions League last week.
As per the i Paper, the Argentine would prefer a move to La Liga if he decides to leave United, thus ruling out Inter.
Manchester United make Michael Carrick sack decision after Como humiliation
Michael Carrick will be in the dugout when Manchester United host Bournemouth this weekend, with the club insisting it is business as usual despite Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat to Como.
Carrick is under serious pressure to improve results, with United winless in their last seven games in all competitions and dressing room unrest boiling over after captain Bruno Fernandes outwardly criticised Carrick’s tactics following their humbling defeat to Como.
Despite the noise around Carrick’s future, understands he is set to remain in charge against Bournemouth on Sunday and will conduct Friday’s press conference as usual.
United are not currently looking to part ways with Carrick, but his job will undoubtedly remain under serious scrutiny after a disastrous start to the season, and replacements are reportedly being lined up.
