Tributes have been paid to a "devoted mum" who died after being struck by a motorbike.
Linda Evans, a 73-year-old teacher, was fatally injured in the collision in London Road, Hadleigh, at 19:45 BST on 9 October.
Essex Police said a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
"We are devastated by the loss of our mum, Linda - a kind, loving and generous person who always put others before herself," Evans' family said in a statement.
They described the grandmother-of-four as "a dedicated, hardworking and highly regarded languages teacher".
"For over 30 years, she and our dad served the local community as secondary teachers," the family continued.
"Even after retiring, she continued to tutor in several Essex schools, giving so much of herself to the pupils she worked with."
The family said Evans "lived life to the fullest" and "had many plans to travel all over the world."
Evans died at the scene of the collision, which happened near a Morrisons supermarket.
The road was closed into the early hours of 10 October while police investigated.
"She will be sorely missed by our dad, us, our young families and everyone who knew and loved her," Evans' family added.
Essex Police has urged anyone with information about the collision to come forward and assist their inquiries.
