President Donald Trump had some choice words for Iran early this morning, calling the nation ‘failed’ and ‘dead’.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote: ‘They have no Navy, they have no Air Force, they have no currency, they are not paying their soldiers or police, Inflation is at 300%, and their leadership is in total disarray and incapable of properly representing the country.
‘The only thing they have is FAKE NEWS from the USA, a willingness to kill their protesters (now over 100,000 people dead. They must be tried for war crimes against humanity!), and a good line of “bulls–t.””
The war in Iran has now been going on for more than six months, with no end in sight as Trump aims to ‘win’ the conflict.
In a desperate move last week, the Trump administration threatened an ‘Economic D-Day’ for Iran and vowed to sanction countries which don’t cut economic ties with the nation.
Scott Bessent, the Treasury Secretary, wrote in an inflammatory opinion piece in the Financial Times about how Trump and the US military have ‘significantly dismantled Iran’s military capabilities and weakened its nuclear programme’.
‘At dawn begins an economic D-Day — the single greatest financial offensive ever marshalled against an adversary,’ he said.
A week after the column, the ‘economic D-Day’ has not begun, and the conflict is at a standstill.
The US and Iran have both been continuing to ramp up threats. Iran threatened to kill Barron Trump, the President’s youngest son, in a bizarre AI clip.
Last month, a propaganda clip titled ‘How to Kill Melania Trump’ appeared to provide tips about the First Lady’s whereabouts and the designer stores they claim she frequently visits.
That video ended with an apparent threat towards the president’s youngest son, saying: ‘This is just the beginning. Barron Trump, wait for us.’
The threat shared against his 20-year-old son featured AI-generated clips of Barron wearing an Arsenal shirt and playing his Xbox, and included suggestions for where he might meet people in New York’s Trump Tower.
The report, translated by Euronews Persian, claims Barron has a ‘digital sanctuary of his own’ with his communications limited to chats on the gaming console.
According to the report, there is a bounty of $10,000,000 (£7,300,000) on the head of the president’s son.
