Two teenagers have been critically injured in stabbings in east London that police are treating as linked.

Officers were called at about 18:10 BST on Friday to Terrace Walk in Dagenham, where a 19-year-old man was found with stab injuries and taken to hospital.

Minutes later, a 17-year-old boy was found with stab wounds in nearby Fanshawe Crescent and was also taken to hospital, where both teenagers remain.

They have been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon, the Metropolitan Police said. Its inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
