David Miliband has added his voice to the growing clamour to reverse Brexit, saying that the decision to leave the European Union has proved to be “exactly the daily anguish” for Britain that he and many others had forecast.

In a wide-ranging interview with's Editor-in-Chief Geordie Greig, the former Labour Foreign Secretary called for a new “institutionalised” relationship with the EU, something he was confident Andy Burnham would establish.

His comments came as the prime minister refused to rule out a pledge to reverse Brexit in Labour’s next election manifesto, telling The Independent it was a question "for another day."
