Bodycam footage showed the moment a wanted offender rammed a police car as he attempted to evade arrest in Essex.

The man, who was wanted on recall to prison, was identified by an officer in South Ockendon on 14 June.

Essex Police officers said he reversed into their vehicle before being tracked to Colchester where he had crashed into a lamp-post. The suspect was tasered and arrested.

The force said he was recalled to prison and at Southend Crown Court on 9 October, was sentenced to a further 21 months having admitted assaulting an emergency worker, dangerous driving and other motoring offences.
