The winners of the first Orkney Nature Festival photography competition have been announced.
More than 200 entries were received for the inaugural contest, competing in six categories.
Winners were selected for adults and under 18s for topics including species of Orkney and natural landscapes.
It is hoped the competition will now be continued in future years.
Henry Memmott, the digital co-ordinator at the Orkney Nature Festival, and organiser of the competition, said: "The standard of photographs which were entered into the competition has been wonderful to see.
"They do an excellent job of showing the variety of natural places and species which are found in Orkney."
He added: "The winning images are stunning, and a true testament to both the skill of the photographers, and the beauty of this incredible collection of islands."
The nature festival itself has been running since 2013.
