A woman has been wrongly accused of stealing from Greggs after police mistook her for her sister.

Helen Connors, 31, from Feltham, was charged with stealing from the bakery chain's Greenford branch on 42 occasions between January and March 2026.

The case against her was dropped at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court after police said she had been wrongly identified. They added that her sister was now being sought in connection with the alleged offences.

At an earlier hearing, Connors told the court she believed her sister was responsible for the thefts. A police spokesperson said the mistake may have happened because Connors and her sister "look like twins".
