Local councillor Lesley Meenaghan shared further photographs of ambulances and police cars outside the now cordoned-off supermarket.

‘Serious Road Traffic Incident,’ she said on Facebook. ‘Please avoid the area.’

Police are reviewing CCTV of the incident.

The force launched an appeal for witnesses on Friday, asking ‘anyone with relevant dash cam footage’ to come forward.

Morrisons declined to comment.
