Woman ‘posed as substitute teacher to insult students because she hates kids’

A woman who has been accused of posing as a substitute teacher and causing mayhem in a class full of students did so because she ‘hates kids’, according to authorities in Milwaukee.

Amy Jones, 23, has been charged with one count of impersonating a public employee as well as five counts of exposing a child to harmful descriptions, after an incident at Rufus King International High School on September 24.

When questioned by the authorities she allegedly said she carried out the stunt because she ‘was bored’, adding that she ‘hates kids’ and ‘just wanted to f*** around.’

Jones, a former student at the school, is said to have scouted the premises for a week before carrying out the stunt, getting past security by blending in with other students.

She then accused of returning on a day when eight teachers were absent and ‘got lucky’ as only seven substitutes had signed in, before going to a classroom set up by another teacher, who stayed with her for 20 minutes.

A 23-year-old woman has been accused of posing as a substitute teacher because she was ?bored.? Amy Jones was charged with five counts of exposing a child to harmful descriptions and one count of impersonating a public employee on Sunday, Oct. 4, in relation to the alleged incident that occurred on Sept. 24, according to court records viewed by PEOPLE. Jones allegedly scouted Milwaukee Public Schools? Rufus King International High School one week before the incident. She is a former Rufus King student, and according to a criminal complaint, she got past school security by blending in with students, Fox 6 reports. During the initial visit, she overheard faculty discussing a substitute teaching agency. Then, on Sept. 24, eight teachers were absent and seven substitutes were on staff. Jones ?got lucky because there happened to be an unfilled position,? principal Doreen Badillo said, and Jones posed and signed in as a substitute teacher, per Fox 6.

However, after that teacher left she allegedly proceeded to organise students by race and gender, insult them using racial slurs and derogatory statements, and use explicit language — as well as playing loud rap music and bragging about being OK with going to jail.

A 16-year-old boy in the class told authorities that she also called one student ‘fat boy’ and told two white pupils that ‘they were the type to start school shootings’, Independent reports.

Meanwhile Fox6 News Milwaukee reported that Jones was said to have asked if any of the students had a vape or marijuana as the class ‘was so f****** lame and annoying’.

She was reportedly escorted from the school after students raised the alarm and principal Doreen Badillo became aware of what was going on.

Badillo said in a statement to the school community that while Jones did go through the school’s safety scan, the school office ‘did not follow proper district protocol in validating the individual as a substitute teacher’ and that the matter was under investigation.

A further statement, sent to the school community on October 5, said: ‘Since our first communication, our initial investigation determined that this individual involved was a former student recognized by staff. She was not a substitute teacher.

‘We did involve our Milwaukee Police Department school resource officers (SROs) the day that this occurred. The district’s Title IX coordinator was also notified. In addition to any police actions resulting from this situation, the district is continuing with its own investigation.

‘We will continue to take all appropriate action to ensure that Rufus King International High School remains a safe and welcoming place for our students and staff.’

Jones is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on October 20 and, according to the Independent, could face a maximum 21 years in prison if she is convicted.

Her lawyers have said she suffers from bipolar disorder, and that she was experiencing issues with her medication on the day of the alleged incident.
