Tributes have been paid to a young British soldier who died in 'sudden and tragic' circumstances while on holiday in Bali.
Finlay Perkins, who is understood to be from Milton Keynes, passed away during a trip to the Indonesian island. His cause of death has not been disclosed.
Grieving loved ones said the family holiday turned from a joyous trip to their 'worst nightmare'.
The Craftsman (Cfn) has been described as 'the most caring, selfless, determined and kind man', whose 'loss has left a void that can never truly be filled.'
A fundraising appeal was launched to help with the 'enormous financial burden' of repatriating the soldier to the UK. His funeral will be held in Newport Pagnell next month.
The family have asked for donations in lieu of flowers to be made to the Jack the Lad charity. The organisation works to prevent young people from dying on holiday from accidents where avoidable risks are taken.
The appeal said: 'It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden and tragic loss of Cfn Perkins, who passed away whilst on holiday with friends and family.
'No one ever expects a trip filled with laughter, memories, and time spent with loved ones to end in such heartbreak.

'What should have been treasured moments together has instead become every family's worst nightmare.
'Cfn Perkins was more than a soldier, more than a colleague, and more than a friend. He was a son, a brother and a loyal friend to so many.
'He was the type of person who would put others before himself, offer a helping hand without hesitation, and bring a smile to those around him.
'His loss has left a void that can never truly be filled.'
A funeral notice confirmed Finlay died on August 9.
Family and friends have been invited to escort him on foot from the old police station on Newport Pagnell High Street to St Peter and St Paul's Church on September 10.
Mourners will later gather to celebrate what his family described as his 'adventurous life'.
Finlay's heartbroken family also announced his death in a Facebook post.
They said: 'We are incredibly devastated to share the news of the tragic loss of our son and little brother Fin.
'Fin was a character like no other, the most caring, selfless, determined and kind man who touched the hearts of many.
'There are no words for how much you'll be missed, but your grandad and best friend, Aidan, have been reunited with an absolute legend.
'We will forever love you with all our hearts.'
The Royal British Legion also paid tribute to Finlay and offered support to his family.
It said: 'We're very sorry to hear of the passing of Cfn Perkins, and send our deepest condolences to his family, comrades and loved ones.
'We'd also like to extend our practical support to his family – please do feel free to contact us to discuss what we can do to help.'
The repatriation appeal attracted 556 donations, with organisers saying the money would ease the unexpected financial pressure on Finlay's family and allow them to focus on mourning their loss and celebrating his life.
